Set within the agrarian plains of Bonmatí, this single-family house is conceived as a sculptural concrete volume that anchors itself with clarity and restraint in the open landscape. The project embraces the raw physicality of in-situ concrete as both structure and envelope, using its mass and geometry to shape a sequence of spatial episodes that frame the surrounding fields and distant hills. The villa takes form as a continuous, elongated figure whose profile rises and falls in response to programmatic needs, producing a dynamic roofline and a series of precise cuts and openings that admit natural light. Circular apertures and slender vertical gaps punctuate the heavy walls, transforming the monolithic shell into a device for orientation, atmosphere, and shadow play.

The architecture balances solidity and porosity. Long porticoes supported by cylindrical columns create protected outdoor rooms, extending the interior into the landscape while maintaining a clear tectonic rhythm. The exposed concrete surfaces—cast with minimal ornament, revealing the imprint of the formwork—give the house a quiet, almost archaic presence, resonating with the agricultural context and the material traditions of the region in a contemporary expression. Inside, the spatial experience unfolds beneath the sculpted roof planes, where daylight enters through calibrated openings and animates the surfaces throughout the day. The building’s orientation and sectional strategy ensure deep visual connections to the surrounding fields, making the changing seasons an integral part of the domestic environment.

This villa is both infrastructure and dwelling: a robust concrete figure that rises from the terrain with geometric clarity, yet remains open to the landscape through its structural permeabilities. In its unfinished state, the project already reveals its essential ambition—an architecture reduced to material, form, and light, standing in direct dialogue with the natural horizon of Bonmatí.
